Practice: Melissa Hurtado is a California Teachers Association Group Legal Services attorney and practices labor and employment law on behalf of unions and employees.

Education: Melissa obtained her undergraduate from the University of California, Davis and earned her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. During law school, Melissa participated in Moot Court, served as President of the Latinx Law Students Association, and was selected as a Sacramento County Bar Association Diversity Fellow. She also gained practical experience through the McGeorge Immigration Clinic, where she worked directly with clients and assisted with immigration-related administrative proceedings. 

Prior Experience: Prior to joining the firm, Melissa represented healthcare providers and facilities in civil litigation, including medical malpractice and employment-related disputes. She also advised healthcare clients on regulatory compliance and administrative proceedings before state agencies.

Memberships: Melissa is a member of the State Bar of California.
